Frequently asked
questions.

Still unsure about something?
Ask Claire

Is the Makers Register really free?

Yes. Joining the mailing list is free. Individual trading spaces have their own fees, which are shared with the opportunity so you can decide before applying.

Who is it for?

Independent makers, artisans, artists, food producers and small businesses with distinctive products. I look for quality, care and a professional display.

Does signing up guarantee me a space?

No. Signing up lets you hear about opportunities. Each application is reviewed for suitability, and a booking is only secured once the stated booking requirements have been met.

What do I need before I can trade?

A professional display, suitable public liability insurance and any relevant product or food documentation. I normally require at least £5 million public liability cover; some larger venues require £10 million. The requirements for each opportunity will be provided before booking.

Do I have to be based in Hampshire?

No. Opportunities focus on Hampshire and beyond. You can apply for the locations you’re happy to travel to.

How often will I hear from you?

I share current opportunities in regular emails, usually on Fridays. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email.
